CAMBODIA TIES HIGHLIGHTS

Traditional Ties programs, our flagship programs, are staffed by an English speaking in-country guide, an adoption professional, and a group leader who creates community, builds bridges and deals with details enabling you to focus on your family and the profound meaning of the journey. All Ties programs include our signature "Connect & Chat" for kids and "Parent Talk Time."

We will travel to Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, where we will ride elephants and marvel at the amazing temples.  For those who would like, join us to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat, then return after breakfast to see Angkor Thom, Bayon, Bathoun and Terrace of the Elephants.  There will also be time to see Ta Prohm, the jungle temple for those who are interested.

There is LOTS more to do in Siem Reap. We’ll visit the nearby silk farm to see the step by step process to create such beautiful silk.  Then, we’re off to the countryside to visit an amazing school.  The children and teachers there are delightful. Afterward, we’ll take wooden boats to the colorful floating communities on Tonle Sap Lake.

Next stop:  Phnom Penh!  For most families, Phnom Penh will be the jumping off point for the "Centerpiece of your Adoption Homeland Journey."  Kompong Speu Orphanage,  Roteang Village, Pursat, the Nutrition Center are all do-able from Phnom Penh.  If your adoption connections are elsewhere in Cambodia, The Ties Program will help with those arrangements too.  In previous years, many families were able to meet caregivers and other special people related to their adoptions.

We’ll have time to visit the Royal Palace & the Silver Pagoda, take a tuk tuk to the Russian Market, cruise on the Mekong River with a stop at Mekong Island. And, we'll make a Ties Program favorite stop at the SOS Children's Village, where the kids are always up for a game of soccer!

Throughout our journey, we’ll feast on delicious Khmer food, mixed in with just enough “western” cuisine to keep everyone happy.

We will also take time throughout Cambodian Ties to gather the kids for optional “Connect & Chat” and the adults for "Talk Time" giving us all a chance to process the amazing experiences in Cambodia.

For those who would like, we will continue on the beautiful beach of Sihanoukville.    While you are there, you might try deep sea fishing, snorkeling, or swimming in the incredibly warm, clear blue water.
Relax. Savor. Reflect.

Our journey will leave us awed by Cambodia and its people—truly rich in beauty, warmth and humor.  We hope that your participation in our program creates a family memory that, like your family ties, will last a lifetime.
